Abstract
Juan E. Azcoaga is one of the pioneers of Latin American Neuropsychology, his contributions to the foundations of learning from the ideas of Pavlov or Luria are important not only because Azcoaga introduces the neurophysiological sustenance of reflexological theories in the region but for his own contributions to the biological bases of learning and its connection with Pedagogy. In this paper, there is a theoretical review of the learning components introduced by Azcoaga and its differentiation between physiological and pedagogical learning. The main objective of this article is to visualize the Argentinian neuropsychologist's profile. The contribution also comes from those who have been direct disciples like Oscar Aristides Palacio, co-author of this work. A tour of the Basic Learning Devices (DBA) of his theory provides a basis for discussion. A neuro-psychological-cognitive theory like that of Azcoaga is the sufficient basis to put together a theory in the light of the cognitive Neuroscience. In this line, his contribution is discussed.
