Abstract
INTRODUCTION. Criticality analysis using a criteria matrix allows establishing the hierarchy of equipment in a plant, while the calculation of the availability indicator shows the percentage of time during which an equipment is fit for use and operational. OBJECTIVE. To develop a tool in Excel using criteria of availability and criticality of the equipment for the assignment of maintenance models. METHOD. This research is of a mixed, qualitative and quantitative nature, using "Microsoft Excel" software as a tool, which is configured by means of mathematical and logical functions to determine the maintenance model. RESULTS. As a result and application of this research, an availability of 95.51% was obtained in the equipment, considering each variable for its calculation. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS. This project demonstrates that it is possible to manage maintenance using low-cost tools such as Excel. The tool developed in this research means a substantial contribution in the process of continuous improvement and comprehensive maintenance management.
