Determinación de la Contaminación Acústica en la Zona Centro de la Ciudad de Ambato

Abstract
Se determinaron los niveles de ruido en el centro de Ambato (Ecuador), mediante sonómetros integradores registradores tipo 2, en 73 puntos de monitoreo distribuidos en un área de 11,55 km2. Estos puntos pertenecen a tres plataformas territoriales y a seis parroquias urbanas: La Matriz, La Merced, San Francisco, Celiano Monge, Huachi Loreto y Atocha Ficoa. Se registraron niveles entre 58,99 dB(A) y 78,99 dB(A). El 100% de los registros superaron los 55 dB(A), valor guía de la Organización Mundial de Salud, recomendado como límite para evitar molestias serias en ambiente exterior. Se propone una estrategia integral para manejo, prevención y mitigación del nivel del ruido urbano.
