Abstract

INTRODUCCIÓN. The bud of COVID-19 has triggered auto-isolation worldwide, a product from the period of quarantine recommended by international institutions such as the World Health Organization. In consequence, the mental health of people could be affected. In order to deal with the situation of confinement, the strategies of affronting have been proven possible. OBJECTIVE. Describe the use of coping strategies in possession during confinement due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. METHOD. A transversal descriptive design was used. The participants were 118 empowered (legal guardian of the student) and the COPE-28 instrument that was digitized to be applied is used. RESULTS. Out of the 11 measured coping strategies, those that have been highlighted by a greater frequency of use were the emotional support and the failure. DISCUSIÓN AND CONCLUSIONES. This exploratory study is considered a contribution in the national context and in the Latin American region, since measuring and identifying the coping strategies during COVID-19 in possession can help educational institutions and researchers to understand the possible effects of COVID-19 among members of school communities. Future investigations in the area are oriented.
