Abstract

INTRODUCTION. The organizations constitute an integrated socio-technical system within a socioeconomic and political context, the analysis of their interaction in a period of time is the proposal of this article for an intense dynamic industry in the last years of operation. OBJECTIVE. Determine specific analytic dimensions for a company in the energy sector in Ecuador during a period of time. METHOD. The case analysis as a tool to link theory and organizational pragmatism. RESULTS The dimensions within the organizational space are: organizational structure, people and culture, processes and innovation systems, the external dimensions are: external relations and organizational context. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS. Cultural integration is affected by the lack of communication, especially when there are mergers or acquisitions, in this sense the processes must consider structured monitoring systems, control over the work task division under defined levels of decentralization depending on the knowledge specialization, with the support of the regulations could promote innovation and the information systematization. From the endogenous analysis the context must be established with a global vision and the external relations are defined as a factor of long term organizational sustainability.
