Abstract
The purpose of this study is to establish the relationship between the use of internet for entertainment and the use of internet for school education learning. It corresponds to a non-experimental quantitative research, transsectional temporality and descriptive scope. A survey was applied to eight grade students of General Basic Education and second year students of high school of 28 schools in 25 districts of 15 Ecuadorian provinces, to obtain a measurable index (ratio). The results showed that the index of relationship between the use of internet for learning and use of internet for entertainment is 0.86; means that adolescents have a marked preference for the use of the internet for entertainment. Meanwhile, as for the internet for learning purposes, they use it as a technological mechanism, but this does not imply research or academic communication.
