Abstract

INTRODUCTION. In this research article, man was studied as a space-modifying agent in arid conditions, since he increases the erosion process in the region in a direct manner, in this sense the reality, the effects and recommendations to diminish this degradation are presented. OBJECTIVE. Analyze the action of man as a soil modifier in the arid and semi-arid regions of the Andrés Eloy Blanco Municipality of Lara State; METHOD. The regional method was applied to delimit the space in order to know and understand the dynamics from human activities and environmental effects; For this purpose, a documentary research was carried out and later it was verified through satellite images and the field visit. RESULTS. We identified the effects of degradation that occur by the action of man, from the process of extraction of clay material, the breeding of animals and planting of some items by the inhabitants without the least training and / or preparation. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS. It is recommended to educate the inhabitants in the agricultural and livestock field, as well as to reflect on the exploitation of the clay in a sustainable manner in these environments of productive interest.
