Fees for application or processing
CienciAmérica is a free space where the only requirement that authors require for the publication of their work is the quality and scientific honesty of their manuscripts, so the journal does not generate any cost for the authors for reception concepts, review, layout or publication of each article. The whole editorial process does not imply any cost either.

Frequency of publication

CienciAmérica, once again committing itself to support the dissemination of research, established that starting in 2017, the periodicity of publication will be semiannual, with two numbers per year planned for the months of January and July. The first number of the year includes the period from January to June and the second year includes the works accepted from July to December.

The number of articles published will depend on the flow of articles received in the journal.

All manuscripts must submit to the editorial work flow, from the sending to the production; in this line, we have a base of external peers, which is constantly growing.

The articles to be considered must be written in Spanish or English. In the first case, they should have a summary in English and in the second, with a summary in Spanish. All manuscripts must be presented in the template designed by CienciAmérica, in Microsoft Word format ( .doc or .docx ).

CienciAmérica is a biannual publication of scientific dissemination, with peer review by specialized academic peers from the Universidad Indoamérica and other institutions. In this context, the authors, reviewers and all members of the Editorial Committee play an important role in the editorial work flow, by guaranteeing the quality of the publications.

Public / Community of Interest
CienciAmérica has as a public and community of interest scientists and scientists interested in dialogue and contribution to the different lines of research of the human being. It is also our interest to reach teachers of all educational levels, so that, in our publications, they can find answers to the various problems they face in their daily work. Finally, the public of interest of the journal is the community of undergraduate and graduate students, so that in the articles presented in CienciAmérica they can find a basis for their research work and contributions in their professional training.

Types of articles published in CienciAmérica:

  • - Original Research Article: articles where original results of an unpublished research are presented and analyzed. It must be structured in Introduction, Methodology, Results and Discussion.
  • - Reviews: articles where points of view or results of theoretical research on a particular subject are expressed, systematic reviews with quantitative analyzes and meta-analyses.
  • - Short Notes: articles where original results of an unpublished research are presented and analyzed in a summarized format. The information is presented in a single body of text.

Language and publication formats
The journal publishes articles written in Spanish and English. Regarding the publication format, from the second issue of 2018, the works are published in PDF, HTML, MP3 audio summary and video presentation by the authors of the article. In order to comply with this point, once the ACEPTATION opinion of the article has been issued, the author must send a video of approximately 2 minutes in which he presents the content of his work.

Item rejection rate
According to the statistics of reception, acceptance and rejection of the articles received, the rejection rate is 30.88%.

Evaluation process
CienciAmérica considers that peer review is the means to determine the quality of articles that report an investigation, which is why it is an essential process in scientific dissemination. For this purpose, we use the "Double Blind" system, which constitutes an anonymous review, where authors and reviewers are unaware of their identities, thus obtaining sincere opinions on the works under review, focusing on analyzing the scientific contribution of the manuscripts.

Publication and authorship
The papers submitted to the Journal must contain a detailed description of the experimental and analytical procedures followed, which allow the replication of the reported results. The presentation of its meaning and implications must be objective and commensurate with the results of the study. They must not contain false or distorted statements, which constitutes unethical behavior.

Any idea or result described in a manuscript sent to the Journal, which belongs to someone who is not a co-author in it, or who has been previously published, must be appropriately referenced.

All manuscripts must include on their presentation page, relevant information about the funding sources of the study. Likewise, at the end of the manuscript the authors must include a list of conflicts of interest that apply to the work submitted.

It is the responsibility of the authors to verify that the content of the manuscript is absolutely original, and that the fragments or ideas that are not, are mentioned opportunely in the text.

Authors should not publish in more than one journal an article that contains essentially the same results or experiments. This behavior is unacceptable by the Editorial Committee. Possible exceptions include consensus documents, which could be published simultaneously in the organ journals of the companies involved.

Authorship in a manuscript must be the result of substantial contributions to the conception, development and / or report thereof. All persons who have made substantial contributions should be listed as authors, and those who have not made such contributions should not appear as authors (example: the Department Director should only appear if he had a degree of involvement and fundamental input in the work ). The correspondence author must verify that the authorship criteria are met.

All persons listed as authors must have known, studied and approved the content of the article before it is submitted for publication. Verifying this process is also the responsibility of the corresponding author.

Responsibilities of the authors

Authors should be actively involved in the peer review process, and should provide timely truthful information requested by the reviewers or by the Editorial Committee of the Journal.

It is the responsibility of the authors, in particular the author of correspondence, to verify that all authors approve the content of the manuscript, and that all persons who have made significant contributions appear as authors.

When submitting an article, the author of correspondence must sign a declaration of originality, certifying that the information contained in the article is completely the result of the work and / or ideas of the authors.

If an article becomes published with numerical, conceptual, orthographic or typographical errors, and one of the authors notices it; It is your responsibility to immediately alert the Editorial Committee to proceed immediately to the correction or retraction of the article.

The content of each publication is the sole responsibility of the authors, delimiting the Editorial Committee of CienciAmérica Magazine as its sponsoring institution from any effect.

Responsibilities of peers / reviewers

The concepts of the reviewers must be objective, fair, and formulated in a respectful and constructive tone. The reviewers' concepts should be free of personal opinions or value judgments . If the reviewer does not consider himself sufficiently expert or qualified to review an article, he must state it after reading the summary thereof, before the complete article is sent to him.

The reviewers must be free of any conflict of interest related to the authors, the work or its funders, that inclines their decision towards the acceptance or rejection of a particular manuscript, and if they have an insurmountable impediment, they must state it before the Committee Editorial will send you the full text of the manuscript.

It is the responsibility of the reviewers to reveal to the authors relevant references that they have not included in their work. It is also the responsibility of the reviewer to alert the Editorial Committee about a double publication episode that has not been noticed by the journal.

The handling of the submitted papers for evaluation must be completely confidential, and should not be shared with anyone.

Editors' Responsibilities
The Editorial Committee should treat all authors who submit their work in a fair and equal manner, following without distinction of race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, nationality, or political philosophy of the authors; the procedures described in this statement.

Publishers must be free of any conflict of interest related to the authors, the work or their funders, that inclines their decision towards the acceptance or rejection of a particular manuscript, and if they have an insurmountable impediment, they must manifest it in a timely manner and depart from the evaluation of a particular job.

The Committee also undertakes to follow the necessary procedures to ensure that the identity of the reviewers remains anonymous.

If a member of the Editorial Board notices errors or inaccuracies in articles that have already been published, it is their responsibility to inform the other members of the Committee, to proceed with a correction or retraction as the case merits.

Matters related to Editorial Ethics

All the members of the Editorial Board assume the responsibility of ensuring compliance with the rules and procedures contained in this declaration, and of alerting the other members when a deviation is taking place.

Authors wishing to retract an article should send a letter to the Editorial Committee stating their wish and explaining the reasons for their request. Once the Editorial Committee meets and analyzes the case, a clearly identifiable retraction note will be published in the table of contents and indexing services.

If the economic, professional or professional interests of a member of the Editorial Committee interfere with the independence of their Editorial Act in a particular case, the member must be isolated from that case.

The editors of the Journal will always be willing to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions or apologies when necessary, even if there is a perception that publishing them would negatively affect the perception of the Journal.

The Editors and the Editorial Committee acquire the absolute commitment not to publish any work that has a component of plagiarism or fraud.

The Editorial Committee analyzes that each article that reports any research with human beings or animals complies with the Declaration of Helsinki for the ethical standards of the research; It meets in cases where it is evident that the article may be attacking the ethical parameters, for which compliance with the following aspects is valued:

  • - Signature of informed consent.
  • - Voluntary participation in the investigation.
  • - Confidential use of the data collected.
  • - Psychic and physical protection of the participants.
  • - Right to withdraw from the investigation at any stage of the investigation.

Accessibility

We encourage authors to participate in the generation of alternative texts that simply describe tables, figures, and visual elements in their articles, creating accessibility for the visually impaired using a screen reviewer.
The effective use of color helps people with low visual acuity or color blindness to understand all the content of the article:

- Make sure there is enough contrast between the text and its background.
- Avoid using red or green indicators
- More than 99% of people who are color blind have red and green color vision deficiency.
- Avoid using only color to communicate information.

Declaration of Ethical Principles

The journal welcomes the Principles of Transparency and Best as ethical foundation and good editorial practices   Practice in Scholarly Publishing, published in June 2015 by the Committee   on   publication   Ethics (COPE, available at https://publicationethics.org/, consulted on June 24, 2018), which establish in relation to authorship and contributions that "an author must assume responsibility for at least one of the parts that make up the work, should be able to identify those responsible for each of the other parties, and it would be desirable to trust in the capacity and integrity of those with whom he shares the authorship ". For this reason CienciAmérica requests all authors to describe their contributions in the manuscript sent for publication.
