University teacher training and health crisis COVID-19

Abstract
The health crisis has put students and teachers from almost all over the world to face virtual distance education as the only option to continue their training processes. Many of them do not possess the required conditions of technological infrastructure, access to the internet and an appropriate teaching-learning environment. From a pedagogical perspective, the radical and abrupt change, challenges not only these conditions, but also the Higher Education educational system in relation to the demands of society. This article reflects about the challenges towards university teacher training as a key agent who needs to adapt to the new conditions of virtualization in an emerging way, all this in the context of the crisis and to respond to the type of professionals that society demands.
